- JUNIOR COMPETITIONS Entries will be welcomed from any competitor within the respective age groups. Chanter Competitions are open to pupils of Primary and Secondary Schools only. Chanter competitors must not have played bagpipes in public e.g. Pipe Band, Ceilidh or Competition.
Entries for Chanter Competitions will be accepted up to 10 a.m. on day. If you do not have an Entry Form, ask at main entrance on arrival, fill in your details, and return to the competition Chairperson. - Senior competitions will be open to all pipers WHO HAVE NOT WON the Gold Medal for Piobaireachd or WHO HAVE NOT WON the Former Winners MSR in the respective competition at either the Northern Meetings or the Argyllshire Gathering as at the date on which entries close. Former winners of the Dunrobin Gold Medal for Piobaireachd or the Gledfield Crystal Trophy as Overall Senior Champion at Dunrobin Piping Championships WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE to enter.
- Competitors choice of tunes must be submitted with entry, otherwise entry will not be accepted.
- The decision of the Judges will be considered as final in all cases.
- Competitors will be provided with adequate tuning rooms. N.B. Tuning on the competition platform will be restricted to THREE MINUTES MAXIMUM when competitors must commence performance or retire.
- All competitors must be dressed appropriately for the occasion with head dress optional and remain in Highland costume until after the prize giving.
- Competitors must be ready when called upon (unless previous competitor has not completed his/her programme), otherwise they may be disqualified.
- Depending on the number of entries received, the number accepted may be restricted at the discretion of the Committee. If any competition is oversubscribed, a ballot will be made to determine successful entries. A draw will be made to determine the order of play in all competitions.
- The Committee reserves the right to make any alteration to the programme or to alter the order of play at any time if circumstances require such a change.
- Junior Competitions - Birth Certificates may require to be produced, to determine age as at date of competition, in the event of any complaint.
- No responsibility will be accepted by the Committee for loss or damage to any property belonging to competitors or any member of the public.
- All trophies shall remain the property of the Committee in perpetuity and will be returned by winners by 30th June each year at latest having been inscribed by the winner.
